Commercial Water Chillers

NOTE: The product photo shown in this listing is our 5 ton Commercial Water Chiller. Our 2 ton chiller will look slightly different with a smaller compressor on top of the unit.

Our Commercial Water Chiller comes on a stainless steel frame. The units come with a built in flow switch to disable the chiller in the event of a pump failure. The units also come with a copper heat exchanger which is suitable for use in most applications. A titanium upgrade is optional. Copper heat exchangers aren’t recommended for use in a closed loop aquarium setup because toxic levels of copper can build up in water which is being used for long periods of time. The use of titanium = Reef Tank Safe!  If your application will be negatively affected by the use of copper, we suggest our titanium upgrade option. A 316 stainless steel heat exchanger is also available, designed to withstand high pressure applications (up to 50 PSI working pressure) and for anodizing baths that contain up to 15% solutions of sulfuric acid.

Pump Recommendation

• Pump Recommendation: Danner Magnetic Drive 2400gph – 3600gph. Other pumps may be acceptable, however they need to be rated for less than 10psi max pressure (applies only to PVC shell heat exchanger). If you’re using a pool/spa pump or any other pump rated in horsepower please talk with our tech support first, most pumps rated in HP would be capable of pressures that could damage the chiller. There is typically a simple work around that allows our chillers to provide cooling to systems which operate at higher pressures. We would be more than happy to help you determine the best method of installation for your system. Controller Notes

• Digital Controller: The controller constantly monitors your systems incoming water temperature, therefore, water flow is needed at all times in order for it to successfully read current temperatures. When your systems water temperature moves above your desired set point, the controller tells the compressor and fan to turn on and begin cooling the water. Once your desired set point temperature is reached, the compressor and fan will turn off.
