About This Product:

Our Commercial Glycol Chillers are built for demanding brewing and process cooling applications that require dependable low-temperature performance, durable construction, and commercial-grade reliability. Available in 2 Ton and 5 Ton models, these outdoor-rated units are built on a 304 stainless steel frame, feature a built-in reservoir, and are pad mount ready for commercial installations. These chillers are ideal for maintaining fermentation temperatures and handling crash cooling in brewing environments.

*Please note: the product photo shown in this listing is our 5 Ton Commercial Glycol Chiller. The 2 Ton model will appear slightly different with a smaller compressor on top of the unit.*

Glycol Mix Recommendations
Recommended Glycol Ratio
  • We recommend using a 35% – 40% glycol to water mix due to the ease of calculating the mix ratio and the operating buffer it provides.
  • Depending on your application, desired operating temperature, and required freeze protection, you may use another water-to-glycol ratio if needed.
  • For many brewing applications, a 35% to 40% glycol mix is standard practice.
Mixing Example
  • 1 gallon of glycol + 1.75 gallons of water = 36.3% glycol mix
  • 1.75 gallons of liquid also equals 7 quarts, 14 pints, or 28 cups.

Brewing & Application Notes
  • These chillers are ideal for maintaining fermentation temperatures and for crash cooling.
  • They are not recommended for dropping wort directly from boiling temperatures.
  • A common practice is to use a 2-stage system where the chiller pre-cools the water, which then cools the boiling wort.
  • Another common method is to use water first to drop temperatures to around 100°F, then switch over to the chiller.
  • Important: the glycol mixture returning to the chiller should never be allowed to exceed 100°F.

Manufacturer Guidelines
  • Outdoor rated / pad mount ready: install on a stable, level surface with adequate clearance for airflow and service access.
  • Always verify your glycol concentration based on your desired operating temperature and freeze protection needs.
  • Choose your unit size based on the total cooling load of your system and the available electrical service at your installation site.
  • These units are intended for maintaining low process temperatures and brewing-related cooling applications, not for direct high-heat knockdown from boiling temperatures.
